1:10 Aintree SUN 28 OCT 2012 VENDOR Lay
The step up
in trip, I feel is coming a bit too soon for Vendor, Even at later stage I don’t,
Feel he would see out the trip. Village star is the Sire of the dam; 6.3f tells
me that he should not see out the trip.

In the good
old days, the race fitness of a horse was a very important factor; the same principle
should still apply today, for me this is a big negative that, Vendor has not
run for 203 days, why? Today Vendor is
taking a step up in trip; He will need to be extra fit, to see out the extra distance.
There is
nothing in the form book that tells me that Vendor will be unconvinced by the
long layoff, In all his runs bar one he is held off the pace, The word headway
pops in most of his runs, This tells you that, Vendor needs a stiff track,
Where he can take advantage of horses that have cut out the donkey work, So in essence
he is beating horse that are cooked.
31 Dec 2011 Vendor won his first over here, The horse that he beat Tango De Juilley, did win in a race in France, Its important you look compare the running style of that win in France, to the race in which he finished second to Vendor.
Race in
France:
Settled
midfield on rail,
headway to chase leaders approaching 2 out, soon ridden, quickened to lead
run-in, ran on well
Vendor Race
: Led, ridden 2 out, joined last, kept advantage
until headed final 75yds, stayed on same pace
In the UK race Tango was the only serious challenger
to Vendor, Keep in mind that Tango was giving weight to Vendor, The 3rd
horse Stentorian was beaten 75L, By vendor, Stentorian last
won a race in June 20010, over 7f on fast ground.
08Apr12 Vendors 2nd over here, A 7 runner affair
which you could easily discount 5 of the runners, So again only one serious challenger
to Vendor, That challenger came in the shape of Its Oscar a 5-1 shot, Oscar was supporting a
tongue tie for the very first time, which indicates some sort of breathing
problem, Only placed once in 5 starts, beaten 14L by Vendor, Looks good? Well yes
it does, But Oscar was also beaten just over 19L by Faha( Mare) Below is the
record of Fahas race record, Dose it look impressive?

So far do
you think that Vendor is worth the investment? I would hope you don’t, Today
Vendor is going to have to work harder, because he is taking on some seasoned
handicappers, The pace is going (Should be) to be fast, The distance is longer,
Will he be fit enough to see out the trip, In my opinion NO, GAY SLOANE at the bottom of the
handicap looks the main threat to Vendor, I think he should improve for the
step back up in trip, MIDNIGHT
TUESDAY looks to be nicely weighted, Age is also in his favour, Hurdlers tended
to reach their peak around 7
