Could it be that punters are backing the selection because he’s called Top Of The Range? Let’s look at his win on the 21Nov11, The 8L margin I feel is somewhat misleading, Ballyboker Boy who Finished second to my selection that day, was making his proper race course debut, His previous run was in June, You really do have to watch the replay for you to have a better understanding, When you watch the replay you should be very impressed not by the manner in which my selection won, But what a gallant race Boy ran( Race course debut, 5 month layoff) That race was run over 2m3f, Ask yourself, If Boy had been ridden with more restrain( Not cut out the donkey work) and had the race been 3f shorter, Then would Boy have won? I Think he would have gone very close. So what has happened to Boy since that race? Well on the 15Feb12 he was beaten over 15L, Let’s look at that race, The race was won by the Jonjo O'Neill trained It's A Gimme rated 140, When I looked at that race, Ignored the first 2, and concentrated more on the other placed horses, Especially 50-1 shot Thomas Crapper(What idiot named him) Oscar Nominee beat T.C. over 30L, TC improved from that run to finish a very credible 4th to Gimme, Tc finished some 11L in front of Ballyboker Boy.I could forgive you for been confused, But just sit tight because I’m to confuses you even more. We will move on from this race, Key fact to keep in mind Jonjo O'Neill Now let’s back track to my selections most recent run, 31Dec11 ran in a grade1 novice Hurdle, A 5 runner affaire, The race was won by the odds on Fav Fingal Bay, My selection was beaten 30L, It’s the second horse who is of interest, Ballyrock was a 25-1 shot( My selection 5-1) Ballyrock was only beaten IL(My selection 30L) So Balyrock Finished some 29L in front of my selection, Just need to back track to the 11th Dec When Ballrock beat a horse called one term. One term was beaten by selection just over 1L, Using the form lines involving Ballrock , you say the form when my selection beat One Term is of little value. Key fact to keep in mind Jonjo O'Neill: Trainers of the calibre Jonjo don’t just enter their horses without any thought process been implied, When I went through the form of this race, Quite few horse trained by Jonjo came into the equation, I am sure the trainer would have took these form lines into consideration when weighing up the chance of his runner in the race. CLARET CLOAK I feel as needed time and experience, again at first glance you would be forgive for not been impressed by his most recent run, However if you view the replay of that race you will see that he travelled very well in the race,The one I like the most is AVOCA PROMISE, His most recent run gives him a great chance, Considering the lengthy layoff he did very well to Finish a very respectable 2nd in a class 4 race, The winner of that race won 3 from 3, Only a 5 runner race but so many factors involved, The price of the fav would stop most people looking further, Every horse can be beaten, When you see the way my selection came under pressure just outside 2m Point when beating Ballyboker Boy, You cant help but think he’s more of a slugger (Stamina) rather than a true 2m speed merchant. |
I have the rare distinction and pleasure of being a leader in the field of education. Though the subject I have specialised in might not be included in the curriculum at Oxford or Cambridge. Picking winners or losers in racing is very much like trying to buy the right investment securities, The element of luck and chance occasionally upsets the best and soundest of calculations,
