Dare I put my neck my neck on the block and say that Long Run is a good horse but is somewhat over hyped? Yes I dare, Long Run beat Kauto at a time when P.N. horses were not running to form, I watched the replay of their most recent encounter where Kauto put Long Run in his place by some 8L, I really can’t see long been able to reverse that form, The more I watched the replay the more convinced I become that Kauto should finish in front of long again. Will K win the race?

A few weeks ago I was very adamant that Kauto could not win, I was getting sucked in by all the negativity about Kautos age been a factor, I discarded what I learnt over the years that been chasers don’t really peak until the age of 8 some keep on improving until 12, So I would not be too concerned about Kautos age.

Captain Chris I feel could be a big threat to the front 2, He has bit to find on official ratings with Long, I really do feel that this longer trip will bring out further improvement, I would not be too concerned by the numbers they really don’t  paint a true picture, Why? Well let’s assume that Long was Lucky to beat Kauto twice because of the fact that the stable by their high standard were going through a lean patch, If this was not the case then I don’t think Kauto would have been able to beat Long by 8L, So could I be right in assuming that Long Runs mark of 182 is not a true reflection of his ability? We shall see.
