12:50 » Market Rasen THU 1 DEC 2011 ROYAL OPERA Lay/ Trade 1.93/ 1.94 Strong Confident lay

Today I feel Opera will try to dictate the pace which could set the race up for PHILHARMONIC HALL who I feel on looks is a proper national hunt race horse, both the runners have had two runs each, Hall was a very impressive winner last time out, We must keep in mind that Halls win was gained at Hexham, In my opinion a very unforgiving track which separates the boys from the men, What I liked about his win is the manner in which he quickened to take up the running, A horse that can quicken after running almost 2m on a testing track is a horse of some ability.

Life in general is very complicated, In a ideal world we would say that this race will be won by one of the front two in the market, I for one think that the winner will come from outside of the market leaders.

BODIE: I want to start with Bodie because he really does look value; I am committing the cardinal sin by evaluating Bodie on his flat form, I used Lexi's Boy as the yard stick.I  am aware of the fact that Bodie was well beaten on his first try over the sticks, Took keen hold, held up in last, not fluent 1st and 2nd, ridden before 2 out, weakened 2 out (op 12-1 tchd 10-1)- You can see that he had a off day that day, But Like all great men/women I’m peppered to forgive him for that run, Bodie as twice finished behind Lexi's Boy on the flat, First time beaten ¾L send time over 4L,both times over 1m1f, Hollow Tree was also the victim of Lexis boy over 12f beaten just over 4L,Hallow finished second to Hinterland in the grade 2 JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial,Hallow to date as won two good class hurdle races,I know Boy was pulled up on his first try over sticks, I feel he can be forgiven on the account of ground been on the soft side,Bodie is trading around the 75 mark which is more than generous.

BAHARAT: Can he reverse a 21L beating inflicted on him by PHILHARMONIC HALL? Yes is the answer, Baharats  best form on the flat is on fast ground, When Hall beat him the ground conditions were far from perfect(soft)  He was not a big outsider in that race(8-1) Connections forked out £36,000 for him in April of this year, Small stables/owners just don’t pay out that kind of money for fun,

Trading: Please don’t duck!- My selection is too short at 1.93/1.94, Considering that Hall as already won a race I do feel that my selection should drift out to around 2.38, I would consider the lay as a stronger possible outcome.
