Over the last couple of days there has been a trend, The trend been that quite a few races have been won by progressive improving types, In any sport there comes a time when the old guard have to stand down, Not by choice, but by the sheer fact that they have been defeated by up and coming stars, All good things come to a end at some point, Not just in sport but in everyday life.
Bucks as a tendency to hit a flat spot in his races, Most of the time he has got away with it through sheer grit, But today if he hits that flat spot he’s going to fail, Because SO YOUNG will burn him off with his turn of foot, Most punters will be thinking first string, second string rubbish, Look it would be impossible for a jockey to ride 2 horses at the same time, Both the Mullins runners I feel have a equal chance,
However I feel Young Gun will at least shoot down Big Bucks.
THOUSAND STARS could be the star of the show, One bit of form gives him a very strong chance, I’m using Arcalis as my yard stick, Arcalis was beaten 3L by Stars, Arcalis was also beaten by Bucks by just over 5L, At this stage you must be thinking I got my wires crossed, I am of the opinion that even though there is a 2L difference in the margin of defeat, I think Stars defeat of Arcalis stands out more than when Bucks beat him, Why? Because Stars beat Arcalis over 2m1f which would require both speed and stamina, Bucks beat over 3 miles, But Just hang on before you call over Sandra(Your wife, Boy friend whose had the operation) When Bucks beat Arcalis, he beat a unfit Arcalis, Arcalis was coming into the race back off a 7 month layoff(Last run in may) over 3m I think Arcalis did very well to get within of 5L of Bucks, Now when Stars beat him, He beat a fit ( Not in that sense Norbert) Arcalis( Month layoff). I know the race I’m talking about was in 20010, But that’s why there is such thing as a form book
Bucks as had 35 starts 20 wins, 16 of those wins were on soft ground, Only 4 on Gd, I think the ground could ride GF, Look through Bucks form, No wins on GF, In fact he has never raced on GF,Gd yes but never GF, This fact alone should make him 5/4 chance, But Punters are Blinded by all the Hype, All the highly paid Pundits will not pick up on this point, Just like yesterday they said Europe could not be defeated,
