What a ridiculous price for a horse who beat horses that were not true 2m horses (07 Nov 2011 win) Bold Sir Brian second beaten 8L (Good ground) He improved when stepped up in trip and softer ground, All his 5 wins to date have been on soft ground.
Our Mick: Finished 3rd to my selection beaten 12L, When punters see that they are going to get very excited, Sorry to be blunt but they are going to have blood rushing to their lower part, Heck with been political correct, They are going to get a hard on, Again Our Mick went on to do very well but not over 2m on Good ground, Over 2m4f on soft ground
So let’s look at the facts, Prior to winning that race his last win was in 2009, The race he won in 20011 was a 6 runner affaire, I would call it a 3 runner Affaire because the other 3 were priced at 40-1, 16-1, and 100-1, So my selection beat 2 horse who were not suited by the trip or going, They vindicated my assumption by winning on softer ground and longer trip.
L´ELDORADO I feel should win this, His last 2 runs don’t look that impressive, But look at the bigger picture, One race was grade2 race- Running comment- There was a strong pace, he was with the leader most of the way, weakened 4 out, So for half the race he was there contesting a strong pace, against good class horse.
With leader at strong pace and clear of 3rd, weakened 4 out, no chance when mistake next, well off leading duo when blundered last |
Keep in mind that race was run on the 13 Nov 2011, Also keep in mind that horses are not machines, That race would have took its toll, He comes out again on the 28thDecember, this time in a class 3 race Led to 2nd, with leaders, led 4th, headed 6th, hit 8th, weakened approaching 2 out (tchd 8-1)
Very important factor- Both those runs were on soft ground, L´ELDORADO winning form is on good ground, So when you do look at the bigger picture, You should also see a bigger price for my selection, Not 1.32-1.33, but more like 1.60-175,
