Poor Grey Hound Called Grey Hound

12:30 Huntingdon WED 4 JAN 2012 JOSEPH LISTER LAY 2.14 could shorten 1.85 then drift back out to around 2.30
My Focus is centred more on the breeding side of my selection; the dam last had a winner under national hunt rules way back in 09, Her offspring seem to fare better on the flat  but on fast ground, This is a very strong factor and for those that bother to do their home work could be the edge that often Punters don’t even bother to look for, Especially the thousands that will be sitting in the bookies as I write, To be fair the bookmaker doses not provide the right tools for the punter in the betting shop for a punter to be able to get that edge. Even so right across the country you will see thousands of underweight grey hounds tied to lampposts, whose owners are in the betting shop, armed with the daily star they commence battle, They are always greeted with a warm smile by Sandra who feels more sorry for the Poor Grey hound who is freezing his Bleep off in the bitter cold, Just in case you are wondering what the Grey hound is called, Norbert named him Grey hound.
The Sire: I was very excited by some of the comments that the trainer made regarding the sire.

I thought the distance and course today were a big, big plus - Richard Hills, Jockey ; Nayef had been working well so I was really quite confident. Mubtaker [Nayef's lead horse] winning on Saturday did it for me. The pace was a bit disappointing. Maybe if there had been a bit more pace he would have won easier. He's growing up all the time. You just know when they are absolutely spot-on, and after Ascot I felt he was at peace with himself. He's done nothing but thrive since, rather like he did last year. America is a consideration. The Champion Stakes might be another consideration, and I hope that Sheikh Hamdan might let him have a crack at the Dubai World Cup. I think I would go for the Champion Stakes at Newmarket, because the ground will be better there. The ground in Ireland has been difficult this year and I wouldn't want to put him through that. He's better on good to faster
The above comment tells me maybe the soft ground will not suite over this longer trip, I said Longer because I know you are going to tell me that he has won on the soft on the flat, I agree, but that win was over a much shorter trip, I think he would find it difficult to last over this longer trip.

. Although he's not certain to get the Derby trip and may be a miler, my gut feeling is that he'll get further. - Marcus Tregoning Will he stay?
I have already stated that the Dams Offspring seem to do better on fast ground. The comments of the sire also indicated a fast ground preference, Big question mark if he will stay, I for one think he would be better over 2m in fast run on fast ground.
DANCE TEMPO: When I first looked at his form I thought the soft ground would be against him, because he has won on fast ground, I soon changed my mind when I viewed the replay of that win, I think Dance did very well to win on fast, Fast ground dose not suit this horse look at the replay and you will I hope agree. I would ignore his last few runs because of the class factor; now down in class he is got a massive chance.
JOCKEY: My prediction that my selection will shorten is now fact, I think Punters are rushing in and they will be burnt. There is dead weight in saddle, The Jockey as ridden him at 10-2 and 10-4, but not at 11-6, He last rode a winner in 2009, This is why my blood boils when I see punters been reckless
